Production: This classic or “true” lavender is an aromatic perennial evergreen shrub with little, greyish-purple flowers that is valued for its sweet, delicate floral aroma and medicinal qualities. It is also known as English lavender as it was originally developed for the perfume industry in England during the 18th century. It is native to the Mediterranean but is now cultivated in all temperate climate zones where it blooms from late spring to early autumn.
Qualities: Lavender is one of the most recognized aromas and are thought to have many therapeutic properties. antiseptic and insect repellent qualities. It is known to help with relaxation and sleep, relieve tension headaches and anxiety, calm bug bites, burns, and minor skin irritations, and used as an antiseptic and insect repellent.
Lavandula Angustifolia has sweeter scented flowers than Lavandin (aka French lavender) due to its lower camphor content and thus is preferred in culinary applications.

Origin: IndiaProduction: Our Turmeric is grown in the state of Odisha, in India. The whole turmeric fingers are harvested, cleaned and then dried in solar and/or electric dryers reaching a maximum temperature of 32 degrees celsius. It is then tumbled by machine for up to 6 hours, in order to remove the skin, a process called “double polished”. Once skins are removed, the turmeric is ground into powder. Turmeric root, also known as Indian saffron, or the “Spice of Life”, is the rhizome of an herbaceous perennial plant native to India, and is in the same family as ginger. The rhizome is used fresh, or dried then cut in chunks or ground into powder, and is used in many medicinal and culinary applications.
Qualities: Turmeric is considered a powerful antioxidant due to its curcumin content and its long list of health attributes including anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, anticancer, neuroprotective, immune balancing, and detoxifying properties. In Ayurvedic medicine it is also used topically to treat skin problems and infection and to relieve joint pain. Although curcumin can also be found in extract form, the advantage of turmeric as a whole herb is that it stays in the digestive tract longer, releasing curcumin along with other beneficial substances over more time, instead of passing through the system unnoticed by the body.
Common Use: As a spice, turmeric has been a staple in south Asian cuisines and is appreciated for its warm, peppery, and slightly bitter taste and strong yellow colour which can be incorporated in a multitude of recipes, including stir-fries, baked goods, smoothies, juices, teas, or taken in capsule form. It is recommended to consume Turmeric with a source of fat in order to increase absorption of its health properties as well as with a pinch of black pepper which contains Piperine, a natural substance that can boost the bioavailability of curcumin by 2000%. Production: Mugwort, also known as Common Wormwood, St. John’s Plant and various other names, is a European herb noted for its fuzzy leaves.
Qualities: Although mugwort is often encapsulated or used to prepare teas and tinctures, the herb is also compounded with other herbs and resins to produce ceremonial incense. John the Baptist, who lived in the wilderness of Judea, reputedly carried the herb for protection. Mugwort is also a traditional material for herbal sleep pillows. It is also said that placing dried mugwort under the pillow will promote lucid dreaming.
Common Use: Excellent in topical balms, ointments and creams when infused in carrier oil. Use to make throat lozenges and syrups. May also be prepared as tea. Use in herbal sachets and dream pillows. Production: Yerba Mate belongs to the Aquifoliaceae family, which is originally from the subtropical regions of South America, but is also present in the southern region of Brazil, and in the northern regions of Argentina and Paraguay. Our mate is grown in Brazil, in the wild among the local plants and animals, and is harvested every 2 years in alternating patches, so as to ensure a well developed plant and nutritional profile, with the intention of preserving the sustainability of the area. It was first consumed by the indigenous Guaraní and Quechua people who drank tea made from the leaves. In present-day South America (particularly Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Bolivia, Chile, and southern Brazil), yerba mate continues to be a widely consumed staple and is a celebrated part of everyday culture.
Qualities: Mate has been claimed to have many positive effects on human health. In some cases it has been shown to be useful as a weight loss tool, to improve the mood, and increase mental energy and focus.
Common Use: Mate is most commonly prepared as a tea. Traditionally, it is drunk from an apple-sized, hollow gourd (called mate in Spanish), through a metal straw (bombilla), refilled, and passed along. It is made by filling the gourd ¾ full with the dried leaves and then covering it with water that is hot but not boiling. Sugar may be added if desired. Mate can also be prepared with cold water or lemonade (called tereré).
Internationally, mate is enjoyed as a tea, in the traditional vessel or in tea bags. It has a bitter, yet refreshing flavor and is a well-balanced stimulant that provides energy and nutrition. The caffeine content of yerba mate varies between that of green tea and coffee. It can be prepared with milk, honey, lemon, mint, and many more delicious combinations.

Qualities: Used most commonly as a flavoring or for medicinal use, licorice root is one of the most widely used herbs worldwide for respiratory and digestive support. Licorice has a distinctive flavor and sweetness that comes from the glycyrrhizin that composes up to 25% of the root’s makeup. It is often likened to the flavor of anise and fennel seeds.

Qualities: The hibiscus flower has been shown to be almost as antioxidant packed as Matcha powder. No surprise it is used in many parts of the world to treat an array of ailments such as fevers, stomach pain, high blood pressure, and bacterial infections. It is known for being very rich in manganese and thus it is recommended to limit intake to 1 quart/day.
Common Use: Hibiscus flowers are most commonly used in tea and it’s what gives the “zing” to Red Zinger Tea. It has a fresh, tart flavor that can be sweetened if desired.
